Adding a team formation to your livestream instantly gives your broadcast a more professional and polished feel. Whether it’s a football line-up, a rugby starting fifteen, or basketball positions, showing your formation on screen helps fans follow the action from the first whistle.

Step 1: Create a new stream
Start by logging into OBScoreboard.com.
From your dashboard, click “New Stream” and select your sport.

Give your overlay a name (for example, “Man United vs Chelsea”).
Step 2: Add a Team Formation
Select the formation or line-up style that best suits your match.

Step 3: Create a Team
Once you’ve added the formation overlay, click Create Team to start adding player names and numbers.

Step 4: Add a New Team
Click “New Team” and fill in the details, team name, sport, colours, and crest.

Step 5: Add Players
You can add players manually by typing each name and number, or upload them automatically using a CSV/Excel file (explained below).

(Option 2) Upload from CSV
Click Download Template to get the Excel file.

If you’re setting up for football, the first 11 players are automatically marked as starters, with the rest listed as substitutes. For other sports, the system follows the standard starting numbers for that game.
Once you’ve filled in your team sheet, save the file and upload it using the Upload Formation button, then click Save Formation.
Step 6: Add the Team to Your Stream
Head back to your Streams page via the left-hand navigation bar and select your newly created team.

Step 7: Customise the look
- Select your preferred formation (e.g. 4-4-2).
- Adjust jersey and number colours, text backgrounds, and other design options.
- Add the manager’s name.
- Click Update to save changes and refresh your live overlay.

Step 8: Go Live!
Now it’s time to go live. Click the Go Live button in the top-right corner — it’ll turn into a copy button that lets you grab your live overlay link.

Paste this link into your preferred streaming software (OBS, vMix, Streamlabs, etc.). Set the width and height to 1080px for best results.
Tip: Combine formations with scoreboards, lower-thirds, and sponsor graphics to create a TV-level broadcast, all from your browser.
